lo-fi rock* from a north dallas garage [*think "white light/white heat"]

We had a blast at Growl last night with Thoughts on Bowling, HEETER, and Chimney Dream.

Highlight of the night: Four young ladies chatting at the merch table after our set, complimenting the Sleepy Redhead on “her cute little piano,” and asking me “what drugs did you take to come up with your songs?” I replied, “Mad Magazine, Wacky Packages stickers, and Howard the Duck comic books warped me into the person I am today.”

Here’s a clip from the set: “Hand Grenade Princess.” Enjoy!

Oh, and don’t forget to subscribe to our webpage for all the updates that the algo doesn’t want you to see!

Saturday Feb 15 we’re back at our favorite place, Growl Records, kicking off the night in front of emo/post-hardcore laptop breakers Chimney Dream, nu-gazers HEETER, and midwest-emo viral olympians Thoughts on Bowling. Posted set times as follows:

8:00-8:25: the prof.fuzz 63
8:40-9:05: Chimney Dream
9:20-9:45: HEETER
10:00: Thoughts on Bowling

Come early. Stay late. Still have time to go to bed early. Or whatever. You do you.

Presented by Swink Booking.

We got the next round of mixes from engineer Clint Niosi at Orange Otter Audio and they’re sounding good! A few minor tweaks and we should have them out for mastering soon. Stay tuned for the new PF63 album “my <3’s still beatin’ but i’m DEAD2U” coming late spring/early summer.

In the meantime, come on out to The Cicada in Fort Worth tonight to hear the aforementioned Mr. Niosi with Stem Afternoon, followed by PF63 playing some tunes old and new, The Go-Go Rillas on the countdown to being launched in a top-secret rocket to the intergalactic banana belt, and our pals Crooked Bones rockin’ and twangin’ the night to a close. Music at 9 PM.

(2024 edition)

not infrequently, i run into someone who tells me something to the effect of “there hasn’t been been any good music since [insert random date that somehow manages to correlate to that person’s teenage/college years],” or “there’s no good [rock/guitar/punk/etc] music being made these days.”

we know that is not true. the problem is not with the music being made, but with either 1) being open to new music, or 2) finding that new music. the algorithms work hard to keep you in your comfort zone by feeding you the same shit over and over and over.

so next time someone (maybe even YOU) lament the lack of “good new music,” take a dive into the following collection of 2024 Year-End Best-Of/Favorites from some of the DJs at WFMU, which scientifically disproves the naysayer claims.

so damn much great music came out last year. give it a listen and discover your new favorite bands, then support them by buying their music and/or merch on bandcamp or your favorite local/indie record store, seeing their shows, and telling your friends.

and please consider supporting WFMU for turning you on to great new music as well.

Our third full-length album (and first vinyl release), “Kirvin Streetman’s Sugar Bride Blues” is turning six years old in about a month, and we’ve got a new album in the works for 2025, “my <3’s still beatin’ but i’m DEAD2U.”

In making plans for the new arrival, we really want to clear out some shelf space here at Casa de Fuzz, and due to bad timing and such, we’ve got a lot more copies of “Kirvin” than we’d like, so we’re offering a deep rehoming discount on copies of “Kirvin Streetman’s Sugar Bride Blues”: $10 + shipping!

Featuring the title track (and first PF63 song played on WFMU), as well as fan faves like “nudist buddhist judas priest fan,” “hip priest’s hip replacement,” “black massachusetts,” and “the crystal furs sing the best of motorhead,” there’s sure to be something you’ll love. So if you’re new to the PF63 family, check out this gem from 2019 at a great price.

Thanks for your support! See y’all in the new year!

We’ve got a new album recorded and could use some extra cash to make it into records, and could stand to clear out some space on the merch shelves for new stuff for the new year.

we just finished two productive days in fort worth at ORANGE OTTER AUDIO with award-nominated engineer/producer CLINT NIOSI recording ten new fuzzy tunes for our next album, “my <3’s still beatin’ but i’m DEAD2U.” mixing and mastering will take a bit of time, as will the making of plastic and vinyl slabs for your listening pleasure, but trust us, it’ll be worth it. stay tuna’d!

in the meantime, here are some proof of concept pics.

Next up, we return to one of our happy places: Growl Records/Division Brewing in Arlington to celebrate the shared birthdays of Wade and Mr. B.

November 23. Music at 8. Thyroids up first, followed by The Two Watts, PF63, and Blood Bells.

There will be cupcakes!

After the fabulous night at Guitars & Growlers in Richardson for Punk in the Burbs III, we’re taking a few weeks off to rest up (and rehearse some new tunes) for the end of this month and the beginning of the next. Here’s what’s up:

Thursday October 31 Halloween Night: We’re kicking off the party at Tarantula Tiki Lounge in Fort Worth, opening for Daughters of Evil, and The Go-Go Rillas. We play at 7. There will be vendors and a tattoo popup!

Friday November 1: We’re celebrating our 10th birthday as a live band at Dr. Jeckyll’s Beer Lab in Pantego with friends Crooked Bones, CLIFFFS, and The Me-Thinks! Again, we kick things off at 7 PM (just like our first ever show), so get there early and stay late. Costumes encouraged!

Oh. Hey. The planets have once again aligned and we’re playing a show in the city where we sleep!

Friday Oct 4 we return to Guitars & Growlers in Richardson for round 3 of the “Punk in the Burbs” show series. We’ll be joined by Sorry 4 Swearing, Middle Age Rookie, and Boltcutter Revolution. The show starts early (music at 7 PM) and is FREE. Enjoy some beverages and grub from the G&G crew, and some punk and punk-adjacent rock.

Punk in the Burbs 3 at Guitars & Growlers in Richardson. Friday Oct 4. 7 PM. FREE.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to our livestream and heckled from comments last night. That was fun! Reminded us of the 25 livestreams we did during the height of the plague years. But really happy that we are able to get out of the house and play in front of people again. And speaking of which…

Next up, we return to The 101 in beautiful downtown Bryan TX to make noise with Mourning After and The Toasted Milk Bois! Music starts around 9 with the TMBs. We’re playing in the middle, and Mourning After closes out. Bring your dog. Bring your friend. Let’s have some fun!
