Punk in the Burbs 3 at Guitars & Growlers in Richardson. Friday Oct 4. 7 PM. FREE.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in to our livestream and heckled from comments last night. That was fun! Reminded us of the 25 livestreams we did during the height of the plague years. But really happy that we are able to get out of the house and play in front of people again. And speaking of which…

Next up, we return to The 101 in beautiful downtown Bryan TX to make noise with Mourning After and The Toasted Milk Bois! Music starts around 9 with the TMBs. We’re playing in the middle, and Mourning After closes out. Bring your dog. Bring your friend. Let’s have some fun!

In addition to the shows on this run, we’ve got a couple of special activities scheduled. First, we’re doing a direct-to-vinyl session with Leesta Vall Sounds in Brooklyn on 5/21. Hope to see you on the road!

BIG weekend ahead!

Friday: Our video “Lawn Darts,” directed by Ryan J. Gill, will be screened at 9:30 PM at Campus Theater in Denton as part of the Thin Line Festival. We’ll be doing a Q&A around 11 PM that night. Video and Q&A also available online for registered guests of the festival. Get yours here: https://www.thinline.us/

Saturday, Part I: We’ll be kicking things off in Beer Alley (or Denton County Brewing Company if the weather is bad) at 6:00 PM. This stage will feature bands with videos in the festival. Our set will pay homage to the man behind The Other Ass web comic and our video collaborator, the mad genius Ryan J. Gill. That is, we’ll be playing all four songs that he’s made videos for. Oh, and “Lawn Darts” will be screened right before our set.

Saturday, Part II: Right after we rock Denton, we’re loading up the fuZZZmobile and heading to The Cicada in Fort Worth for a late night rock and roll thing with Goiter Belt and Fire Bad! We love playing The Cicada, and this show is gonna be loud and lit. Be there!

Friday night (4/19) we’re back at our home base in Arlington for our 36th appearance at GROWL/Division Brewing!

Blanket of M kick things off at 8, followed by Ex-Regrets, and The Two Watts. It’s gonna be a fun time, so come out early, grab some pizza or a burger and some beer, and rock out!

Why should Bonnie Tyler make bank every time the shadow of the moon blots out the sun?

Here’s your new Official Solar Eclipse Anthem: “Little Miss Solar Eclipse”

Play it LOUD! Play it as the world goes dark and the end of the world approaches! Play it! Play it! Play it!

Play it here: https://prof-fuzz63.bandcamp.com/track/little-miss-solar-eclipse (or on one of the streaming platforms that won’t pay us a tiny fraction of a cent for the spin, we don’t really care).

Our video for “When Lawn Darts Are Outlawed Only Outlaws Will Have Lawn Darts” (directed by Ryan J. Gill) has been selected for screening at this year’s Thin Line Festival in Denton at the historic Campus Theater (and in the ThinLine virtual theater) on Friday April 26 at 9:30 PM.

Moreover, we’ll be playing an early evening set at 6:15 PM on Saturday April 27 in Denton at Beer Alley.

Hey hey hey! Next on the calendar is a return to our favorite beer lab in Pantego, Dr. Jeckyll’s! Saturday March 30. Music at 8 PM. $10.

Wednesday March 13 we’re the returning-guests on a Live at Binion’s Songwriter’s Showcase session at Binion’s Ice House in Arlington. The festivities start at 8:30, and we’ll be performing some songs from the depths of the PF63 catalog (old songs night!)! No overlap from the set we played there in November. Open to the public. Come get sung to!

Our set will livestream from the Live Wednesday Night FB page: https://www.facebook.com/livewednesdaynight

Oh. Hey! We’re gonna be in Brooklyn on May 21 recording some 7” vinyl singles with Leesta Vall as part of their Direct-to-Vinyl Live Sessions project.

Here’s the scoop: YOU chose a song* from a list of PF63 favorites (and two unreleased tunes!). We play the song live in the studio as the record is lathe-cut in real time. Each performance is unique (and may include shout-outs, dedications, fuckups, etc). The end result is seven one-of-a-kind inches of fuzzy pleasure for your earholes!

*Each record can hold 5 minutes of music, so if you pick two short songs, you can even get a 2-for-1 thing!

Preorder NOW at https://leestavall.com/products/proffuzz63

We are superfugginexcited to be be playing at Red Zeppelin Records in McKinney on Saturday March 2. (2023 edition)

not infrequently, i run into someone who tells me something to the effect of “there hasn’t been been any good music since [insert random date that somehow manages to correlate to that person’s teenage/college years],” or “there’s no good [rock/guitar/punk/etc] music being made these days.” we know that is not true. the problem is not with the music being made, but with either 1) being open to new music, or 2) finding that new music. the algorithms work hard to keep you in your comfort zone by feeding you the same stuff over and over and over.

so next time someone (maybe even YOU) lament the lack of “good new music,” take a dive into the following collection of 2023 Year-End Best-Of/Favorites from some of the DJs at WFMU, which scientifically disproves the naysayer claims.

so damn much great music came out last year. give it a listen and discover your new favorite bands, then support them by buying their music and/or merch on bandcamp (or your favorite local/indie record store), seeing their shows, and telling your friends.

and please consider supporting WFMU for turning you on to great new music as well.

typically, when we release a new record we make a solemn promise to our listeners:

“this record is guaranteed not to be on anyone’s YEAR-END BEST-OF LIST.”

and for five albums over nearly a decade, that’s been true. but friends, we’re afraid that this year we have failed to keep our promise.

our 2023 “cinnamon sea LP” (our sixth full-length release) has, in fact, landed on a bunch of people’s YEAR-END BEST-OF / FAVORITES LIST.

trust me, no one was more shocked than us! oh well… thanks for the love. we appreciate it.

perhaps the biggest figurative kick in the head about the reception this record has garnered is the fact that all eight tracks have been played over the FCC-regulated airwaves (as well as on various internet radio shows), individually (not in some “whole album at once” format). so, a deep thanks to the DJs who have given “cinnamon sea LP” a spin or three!

and thanks to clint niosi and stephen finley for the top-job engineering/mixing and mastering the album.

we’ll be on the road some in 2024, and back in the studio making more fuzzy noise for your ears.

thanks for listening. stay tuned for more.
